Install guide

LNNRT Mods work only on the Pioneer CDJ-2000NXS2 with firmware v1.87.

  1. Download the official stock firmware v1.87 for the CDJ-2000NXS2 from the AlphaTheta / Pioneer DJ support site and unzip it to get C2KNXS2.UPD.
  2. In the Patcher tab, tick the mods you want and choose the options.
  3. Drop your stock C2KNXS2.UPD on the file box. It is verified by checksum — only the exact official file can be patched.
  4. Build the patched update and unzip the result. Check manifest.json for the patch versions and the output SHA-256.
  5. Format a USB stick (FAT32), copy the patched C2KNXS2.UPD to its root, and follow the official firmware update procedure for the player (USB source with the update file, hold the requested buttons at power-on as described in AlphaTheta's firmware update guide).
  6. Every LNNRT Mods build installs over any other one, so you can switch builds (or install the same file again) the same way.

Safety & recovery

  • Use at your own risk. Firmware modification can brick a player. Never interrupt power or remove USB during an update.
  • To return to stock, build the stock firmware restore on the Patcher tab and install it like any update. Pioneer's own file cannot do this: every LNNRT Mods build reports version 1.87, and the player skips an update that is not newer than what it runs.
  • The restore is Pioneer's 1.87 file with only its two version headers raised (10 bytes differ, checksums included), so the player accepts it. It then runs stock 1.87 again and reports 1.87. Later official updates install as on any stock player.
  • Settings the mods saved (SEARCH, OVERVIEW WAVEFORM TYPE, KEY SHIFT) stay in the player's memory, but stock firmware ignores them. They come back if you install a mod build again.
  • Mods are built for stock v1.87 only. Patching any other file is refused on purpose.
  • Modded firmware may behave differently in modes not covered by the changelog — read the patch details.

Verification & privacy

  • Patching runs entirely in your browser (WebAssembly-free JavaScript). Your firmware file is never uploaded anywhere.
  • Every patch release publishes the expected output SHA-256. After building, compare your manifest.json output hash with the published value to confirm your build matches the reference release bit-for-bit.
  • The patch data is served by this site (release/), so anyone can inspect it. It contains only our own code and patch bytes, never Pioneer firmware.
